Tryst Lake
This weekend Scott and I went to tryst lake for a day ski tour. So much powder made me realize my ski skills need to be greatly improved to truly enjoy these mountain adventures. I'm not quite where i need to be. Especially considering how good Scott is and how keeping up with him is hard these days! I think that the way up would have been a lot better if the rental boots hadn't hurt so bad. I have to admit that the area is beautiful and being in the back country is so peaceful and wonderful. Starting my weekday lunchtime runs as well will greatly improve my cardio and make these mountain adventures that much more exciting. Maybe snowboarding lessons and then ski touring in comfy snowboard boots is the way to go! Now that could be nice. Despite not really enjoying this weekend touring, I am not ready to call it quits and once my feet are better and my legs no longer hurt, i will work towards more mountain fun. One thing is for sure, its time to save my money to get my own boots. I think that 80 percent of my unhappiness going up the mountain was a ton of foot pain. Being outside all day is worth the work.
Whats even more fun is after a day of being in the mountains, its wonderful to meet up with friends back at the house for a yummy cooked dinner before a night out to celebrate st. patty's day. A good way to end the night! Then a day of relaxing and napping with my wonderful man. A good weekend at the end of the day.
As the weather is starting to warm up I am getting more and more stoked to pull out my mountain bike and get to pedalling again. I plan on biking to work as many days as possible this summer and only take the bus on really rainy days. I now have to bike uphill all the way home which will be hard at the beginning but I am hoping with be super easy by the time the snow flies in the fall! Lots of exciting adventures to come including a super fun mexican vacay the first week of April! Fun fun fun!
